Pizza House Rocks!

Tonight, Lane, Connor, Grandad and I went up to Commercial Street to eat some of the best pizza in Springfield at the Pizza House-which happens to be across the street from one of Connor's favorite places to visit in Springfield-the old train bridge. So, after some delicious thin crust we hiked the bridge and drove home. The purpose of this particular post is not so much about the details of where we had supper, but more about what he said when we got home. (One of my favorite parts of this day.) Let me preface by noting that Lane is currently working in Humansville building a school. After Connor got out of the tub, he asked Lane if he had to work in the morning. Lane told him no, and asked him if HE had to go to work in the morning. He said, 'Yes, I do.' And I said, 'Hmmm, so where do you work?' He said, 'I'm building a school. In Jonesboro. It's where Elmo lives.'

I love my son. He's hilarious.

Memorial Day Weekend 2009

This is my first attempt at organizing a record of my family's daily happenings. Not just for the out-of-towners who might be interested in what's going on up here on the Farm, but mainly for my benefit so I can keep up a little more efficiently. I really enjoy keeping a journal, and I have kept one for Connor. I really love the hand-written quality of a journal. But I think this might be handy, too. We'll give it a shot!

Today is Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend. Lane is working the ice houses in both Nixa and Kimberling City most of the day. The weather is semi-rainy, but nice and warm. Connor and I put together his Polar Express Train Set this morning and played with it since we couldn't really enjoy the outdoors. He is now napping and here I am typing. It is nice to have a weekend of nothing we HAVE to do, but it would also be nice if we had SOMETHING to do. Is that contradictory or what? I think I'm starting to ramble. Time to move on to the decor' stage of setting up this blog stuff....
